Mysteries & Monsters #178

Tune into Monsters & Mysteries to hear David and Paul Bestall talk about Palmetto State Monsters!

“It's time to set a course for South Carolina on the hunt for more monstrous residents lurking in the woods, lakes and tunnels surrounding the beauty of one of the US's most historic states with our good friend David Weatherly.

I finally get a chance to get into one of my very favourite cryptid cases, the infamous Bishopville Lizard Man which made a small, sleepy town a nationwide monster hunting magnet for a couple of years in the mid to late 80s. Once you hear what really went down, you may consider something other than a giant lizard was on the rampage.

We meet Lake Monsters, Cymbees, a Mermaid that brought a town to a stand still and a terrifying creature known as the Third Eye Man who stalked the tunnels under a university campus, scaring students and police officers alike.”

Ma. Barker House: A Haunted Legacy

On January 16, 1935, authorities surrounded a house in Ocklawaha, Florida. Inside were notorious public enemies Ma. Barker and her son Fred. After an hours-long shootout, the two gangsters lay dead.

For years, the house was shut and, despite many attempts, no paranormal investigators were allowed inside until 2018 when David Weatherly and Dave Spinks became the first to enter the Ma. Barker house for an investigation.

The house is a time capsule, with original furniture and even dishes from the time the Barkers lived in the place. Bullet holes still riddle the walls, and the echo of the gangsters still lingers.

Now, see the investigation in the new documentary Ma. Barker House: A Haunted Legacy, available for rent or purchase at ScarenetworkTV:

The Black Eyed Children have puzzled researchers of the strange since they first started appearing around the world. David's book remains the most detailed study of the topic.

"Strange children are appearing around the world. Attired in old fashioned clothing, their skin is pale and their mannerisms awkward. Their most startling trait however, is their solid black eyes. They are knocking on doors and rapping on windows. Their voices are monotone and demanding and they have one simple request: They want to come in."
